When do I meet with my Maternity Nurse Navigator?

(relaxing music) – With a Maternity Nurse Navigator, you can meet as early as eight weeks. Our first visit is
between eight and 20 weeks when you’re trying to
decide which hospital you would like to deliver at. And I can show you what
Wesley has to offer, all of the resources we have, as well as the educational classes that will help you through pregnancy. Your second visit will be 20 to 30 weeks. We can talk about creating
and reviewing a birth plan, pain management options,
as well as picking out a pediatrician to care for
your baby after they’re born. You also would get your Mommy
Gift at that time from Wesley. Between 30 and 40 weeks,
you would meet with me just to finalize any
questions, talk about delivery, make sure you’ve had tours
of birth care suites, or labor and delivery or both, and then get you set up with our PAT, our pre-admission testing nurse, Jaimie, to get all of the lab work
and computer work done before your admission. For postpartum, I would
either call, text or email, whichever form of communication
works best for you, two to three weeks after. So, you don’t have to come in. I can just call you at home, see how you’re doing, how you’re feeling, how breastfeeding’s going. If you need any help or any resources, I’m there for you. (relaxing piano music)
