Perfect your pics! Photography director for Harper’s Bazaar offers tips and tricks

WELCOME BACK. QUITE THE TREAT. THE PHOTOGRAPHER FOR HARPER’S BAZAAR AND TOWN AND COUNTRY MAGAZINE AND HERE FOR THE FOE GRAPHIC CENTER. SHE IS HERE TO GIVE US TIPS AN SOME OF THE TOUGH YOU CAN DO ON YOUR PHONE. TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORK WITH THE PALM BEACH PHOTOGRAPHIC CENTER. TELL US ABOUT THIS LITTLE TELL US ABOUT THIS LITTLE GEM. IN WEST PALM BEACH, THEY KINDLY BROUGHT ME HERE LAST YEAR. AND IT WENT SO WELL THAT THEY ASKED ME TO COME BACK THIS YEAR AND BACK AGAIN NEXT YEAR FOR TWO WEEKS AND A BIG MUSEUM EX-PICKS. I AM WORKING WITH LOCAL PEOPLE AND LOCAL PLACES AND CINEMATIC PORTRAATS AT CINEMATIC PORTRAITS AT NIGHTTIME. Erin: WE HAVE SO MANY BEAUTIFUL PLACES IF I CAN BRAG A LITTLE BIT. YOU DO. Erin: NIGHTTIME PICTURES IS YOUR SPECIALTY. WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THAT? BASICALLY TRY TO WORK WITH A GOOD SRL PHYSICAL CAMERA AND ALWAYS HAVE A TRIPOD BECAUSE YOUR EXPOSURE ARE GOING TO BE A SECOND AND LONGER AND YOU CAN’T HOLD THE CAMERA STILL. YOU NEED THE TRIPOD. WEAR BLOCK SO PEOPLE DON’T THINK YOU ARE CREEPING THINK YOU ARE CREEPING AROUND. SOFT LIGHT. AND SO YOU CAN FOCUS ON THINGS. AND ALSO YOU CAN LIGHT PAINT WITH THE FLASHLIGHT AS WELL. Paul: HOW DO YOU USE THE FLASHLIGHT. PUT IT ABOVE. MY STUDENTS HAVE COME WITH CRAZY CONTRAPTIONS. ONE THAT PEOPLE WEAR ON THEIR -úHEAD. A GUY CALLED CHRIS MADE AN ORB, LIIE A BIG METAL ROD THAT SPUN AROUND AND DO HE POETURE ON THE TRIPOD AND GET IN CIRCLE. Paul: BALL THE LIGHTING AT NIGHT I WOULD IMAGINE. THE LIGHTING AT NIGHT IS BEAUTIFUL. HOW YOU LIGHT ESPECIALLY IN PALM BEACH. SO, YES. Erin: YOU HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE AND WILL WE SEE THEM IN ANY MAGAZINES? THE BIGGEST EDITION AT THE PALM BEACH CENTER. Paul: LOOK AT THAT. THIS IS ME CREEPING AROUND IN WEST PPLM BEACH WITH MY TRIPOD. THIS IS IN PALM BEACH. Erin: YES. I WUSS A CASTING CALL OUT FOR STRANGERS AND THIS IS ONE WHO RESPONDED MELODY FROM DELRAY BEACH. AND WE MET DID A CINEMATIC PORTRAIT. KINDLY LET ME IN AT NIGHT. Paul: I LIKE THIS ONE. WORK FOR THE PICTURE. THAT’S WHAT YOU NEED A TRIPOD FOR. TAKE A LAWN EXPOSURE. Paul: SO MANY OF THESE YOU CAN DO ON YOUR PHONE AND AS ERIN AND THE GIRLS KNOW I ERIN AND THE GIRLS KNOW I TRY, BUT MOST OF THE STUFF IS OUT OF FOCUS BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON I CAN’T TAKE A GOOD PICTURE. ERIN: EVERYBODY HAS THIS CAMERA IN THEIR HAND ALL THE TIME. THEY DO, INCLUDING MINE. I AM A GRAM ADDICT. Erin: ME TOO. WITH INSTAGRAM, DON’T OVERFILTER BECAUSE THINGS CAN LOOK VERY, VERY CHEESY. ANOTHER GOOD THING TO KNOW WHEN YOU TAKE A PICTURE ON YOUR iPHONE WITH THE CAMERA AND YOU POINT IT AT SOMETHING, THERE IS AN AVERAGE EXPOSURE READING OF WHAT IT IS SEEING WHICH CAN BE WRONG. IF YOU WANT IT TO BE LIGHTER, TOUCH THE SCREEN — IT WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SHOW YOU BUT TOUCH THE SCREEN AT THE POINT WHERE IT IS DARK — Paul: WE ARE ALL DOING IT. Erin: TOUCH IT WHERE IT IS DARK — I ALWAYS TOUCH WHERE I WANT IT TO BE FOCUS. EVERYBODY SHOULD BE TRYING THIS AT HOME. PUSH IT WHERE IT IS DARK AND MAKE YOUR PICTURE BRIGHTER. IF YOU WANT THE PICTURE TO BE DARKER, TOUCH WHERE IT IS BRIGHTEST. Paul: I AM A CHEATER BECAUSE I RELY ON THE POST ENDING WITH THE WAND THING WITH THE EXTRA RAZZLE DAZZLE. Erin: LET’S TAKE ONE QUICK SELFIE ON AIR. WE NEED TO DO IT ON MINE AS WELL. LET’S DO IT TOGETHER. Erin: HERE WE GO, SANDRA, RATE FOR IT. Paul: SIMULCASTING. Erin: 3, 2, 1.FROM ABOVE
