Breastfeeding Support Group at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health

Breastfeeding Support Group at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health

We meet every other Friday currently
from 10:00 a.m. to noon and it’s a great place just to come and meet other
breastfeeding moms because a lot of research has shown that mother to mother
support is the best for breastfeeding. So you can come and talk with other moms. We
usually have a lot of different age ranges of moms that attend the group
with their babies. So it’s always good to kind of bounce off your questions off
other moms who have been there and maybe experience the same thing as you’re
experiencing right now. We’ve seen our attendance at this group really rise
over the past several months. We’re having a lot of moms come and meet at
the group and a lot of moms who just come every every other Friday they’re
always there because that camaraderie and making of new friends and sharing
the same experiences is really, really helpful with breastfeeding. So, one of the
things we’re gonna try to do for the following year is to have a group
meeting every week instead of every other week, because a lot of moms have
expressed that if you are having a breastfeeding problem, sometimes two
weeks is way too long in order to to get the help you need so we’ll be trying to
offer the group every week in the following year just to kind of provide
that support for the community. So, we also have snacks. We have a scale so moms
can weigh their babies. So, it’s really, really helpful just to kind of reassure
moms that babies are growing well and they’re getting everything they need.
